There are some stunning walks right on the doorstop or a little further afield. We have put together a number of options to suit both those who just want a quick breath of fresh air or for those who fancy something a little bit more challenging. Take in the sea air on our recommended coastal walks or immerse yourself in the history of the area and see what this beautiful countryside has to offer. This is a beautiful, scenic walk from Upwey House itself through the farming village of Upwey across countryside to Bincombe Hills and back through the village of Upwey.
This walk has a little bit of everything that’s best about Dorset – fantastic views over sea from the cliff tops, access to a long beach where we actually found fossils, the crystal clear and sheltered waters of Ringstead Bay which is great for a dip in the summer (though some hardy souls can be found in their trunks in February) and the enticement of some sustenance at the excellent Smugglers’ Inn at the end.
As featured as one of the UK’s “best coastal walks” in Julia Bradbury’s ITV series, this walk takes you to enjoy one of the famous sights of Old Harrys Rock and stunning coastal views. Enjoy a spot of lunch at The Pig on Beach when you've finished your walk
